I knew it was only a matter of time before I succumbed to the wonder...I finally caved and brought this beauty into my home
I tried.
I really did.
But after I killed another blender, I decided I had to go big guns. Today both of my children had smoothies that included kale. Yes...yes they did. The thing grinds up anything in a matter of seconds. I made a TON of pesto (I have a secret source of basil I had to hit up today) and it was so easy & incredibly creamy. I currently have more fruits and vegetables in my home than are grown in most small farms. I had a friend stop by today for a green smoothie (this one had kale, blackberries, mango, bananna and greek yogurt) and she is already planning her own purchase. Please, forgive my blatant consumerism but I am really loving this thing. My mixer may end up in a cabinet so the Vitamix can have the precious counter space. Two green smoothies and a yoga class today have me feeling like a health guru.
Other than that, things are just plugging along. It seems to be spring here. I say seems to be because although it was in the mid seventies today, it could snow by the end of the week. I'm not getting too excited quite yet. I'm not even taking Belle to JISP (skiing) tomorrow, it's just too melted & not much fun. I probably only skiied half a dozen times this season (and really only enjoyed once or twice), it has been a bad season up here.
I'm entering the last month of my thirties....hard to believe I met y'all when I was in my mid-twenties! I am not sure how much celebrating will be had, Erin's husband is not doing well. He seems to be withdrawing, sleeping all the time and the mets are everywhere. It is just heartbreaking. We (the girls and I) took Erin to my mom's mountain house in north Georgia for her fortieth. She is bearing up under all this with grace and a remarkable sense of humor. We have booked our May beach trip making sure there is enough room for her boys if they need to be there.
I know all the cherry trees are blooming...I do miss a southern spring!

Missed It
Carole,
Just now saw your post so I missed Corinne's performance. Hope she did well. We really would have gone to the play. I think Carter is pretty interested in plays these days.

Hi
How is everyone?
Corinne is singing on saturday the 3rd.
The thing is ...I do not know what time she will be on.
She is singing Matchmaker from Fiddler on the Roof..not Hello Dolly
Work is busy. I feel like i am getting the hang of it. I am not nearly as fast as the rest of the nurses.
My mom has had her 2nd cataract surgery. all went well.
her mother is ill and I could just scream.... the drs talked her into letting them do a SPINAL TAP ...(made my mom feel guilty actually)...on an 89 yr old!!!
JERKS they are. she is winding down ...slipping away and they stop at nothing.
I will feel awful if they find something....I just feel they will not.
They did not clarify with my mom just WHEN they would do it so someone would be there.
Medicine is nuts, rediculous!!

Hi,
Corinne and Abby need to work all 3 weeks or they do not get paid!!
So, with that said, I am looking for the dates to horse camp.
If they conflict, I am sure she will opt for horse camp.
Me too on the weather.
Will try to find out about the performance: time, etc .
send me info on carter too.
Anyone want to enjoy the Kevin view on life for a week??
I'll pay the postage.
I'll pay the postage.
sheesh that child thinks he is entitled to a lot.

I'm Soooooooo Cold!!!
I want our very very mild winter back! Thank goodness none of that snow this morning stuck. I don't know if I'm going to make it through too many more winters!
Yes, Carole, we would love to come to Corinne's Hello Dolly musical. Give me the details! I will put it on my calendar tonight! I have gone back to the old fashioned day planner strategy. I would do pretty good if I just looked at it! I picked Emerson up from school the other day and started to head home knowing Carter was staying after for play practice then realized I was supposed to be bringing Lizzy home too! Poor girl. She seemed ok though. I hadn't gone that far but the gates were closed by the time I got back. I'm getting old!
Carole, I looked into the mud camp thing. My co-worker is sending her sons the last session since that is when their friends are going. Which sessions are Corinne and Abby working? I'll have to talk to Jim about Emerson and the summer soon. I've been putting it off although the other day he did mention that he knew I was working this summer. I thought he would try to re-negotiate that point.

Nice to Hear from Ya'll
Julie,
Don't worry about the Christmas cards. I was just kidding. I do think it's becoming a lost tradition though. I generally use a photo we have happened to have taken during the year, but if it gets to November and we don't have one, I do get kind of panicky. The one we took had to wait for Thanksgiving since the playground was by my Mom's house. We had taken a photo there years ago before Emerson was born. It was me, Jim and Carter and the fourth seat was empty. I have always wanted to go back and take one with Emerson filling in the last spot. Finally got the chance. It is the last photo in his "Emerson's Story" book that I made for him showing how he completed our family. He LOVED it.
Glad to hear Parrish is reading. I didn't realize he didn't dive into it beforehand like you do. Carter has actually stopped since he seems to be so busy with everything else. I think I'll make him go to the library again though. He would prefer computer games, I'm sure but once he gets back into it, he'll like it. Thanks for the inspiration!
Carole, Congrats on the new job. Guess our lunches will be a thing of the past. Hope things are going smoothly for you. Do you already know people there?
Work is going well and I'm getting in the swing of running the kids around after school. Carter got a part in the spring musical, Aladdin. He is Jafar, the villian. He was surprised he got it since he's not much of a singer. I've set up 4 voice lessons for him starting next Monday to help boost his confidence. He used to sing well so I'm sure he'll pick it up again. The teacher sounds like a piece of work so I'm interested in meeting her. Definitely a confident woman who doesn't mind telling you how great she is! She has made it quite clear she doesn't put up with tardiness so let's hope for no big traffic jams after school on Mondays! The play is the last weekend of March if anyone wants to come.
So, Carole, are you leaning towards White Station? Those AP stats sound great! Didn't realize you went to the St. Mary's open house. I know you had talked about it though. I think Maria's daughter, Lizzy will be going to St. Agnes. She said SBA was her second choice. Guess we find out all of that stuff come March. Got the letter about registration today for next year for Emerson. He's had a great few last days. Returning after Christmas was not good. I think his teacher was very frustrated with him. She is all smiles lately, thank goodness. I think we'll be doing the parent/teacher conference next month for him :)
